Shaken, not mixered.
In addition to photographing the Inland Empire small business mixer, I also was also an exhibitor (not the scandalous kind, don’t worry).  I was really excited to try it out, primarily because I’m a teeny tiny business and a lot of my work days involve sitting in my very quiet living room office and not talking to humans.  It’s funny, shooting is an intensely social activity,...

Lacey and Ric, Preview
I can’t believe it was early summer when I met Lacey and Ric for the first time! I was honored to be a small part of Lacey and Ric’s wedding.  Lacey looked beautiful, Ric was as relaxed as could be, and good golly I’ve never seen so many good dancers in one place.  There were so many lovely moments, I’ll just let the images speak for themselves.  I can only hope I captured...

Ooooout there
You know what makes me happier than shooting photo or video content?  Rolling in a vat of high fat cheese with my mouth open and a baguette under each chubby arm Shooting a lot of photos and video! To stop compromising
I had an itch to go back through some old work today and stumbled upon these two stills from a project I shot in 2009. I remember pulling up to this location with nothing but a big silk and an A-Minima.  I thought, “Fudge balls.  I have to shoot this scene and there will be either blown out highlights or underexposed subjects and everyone will think I did not know how to expose it.”...

The Greatest Blog ever Tumbld
My taste in documentaries is really finicky.  I have a tendency to go for genuine, story-of-one-person tales, and gimmicky, loud, slightly inflammatory calling cards.  So documentary director Morgan Spurlock kind of does it for me. “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold” follows Spurlock securing funding for and pimping 15 or so brands that fronted the 1.5 million dollars (that’s 3...

A Trip to the Moon (Drooling over Archives)
My friend Chris snagged a few tickets to a screening of the recently restored color version of Melies film, “A Trip to the Moon,” presented at the Academy of Motion Picture Art & Science. In a world of, let’s be honest, digital junk, the magnitude of that sentence is totally lost.  Three organizations spent a total nearing half a million euros and remade each frame of the...
